ERGENT.........................Ms. brunton or Mrs. Miller what does ss mean in knitting because i am trying to make a round about bag on knitting central and i dont know how to do it so if you can explain on this website it would be gladly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Jennifer Miller said

It means slip stitch..............slide your stitch form the left needle to the right needle without knitting or purling it.

Abby said

at 9:00 pm on Jun 9, 2009

o so you just put the stich on another needle from left to right

Abby said

but on my paper it says that ss means stockinette stitch but i dont know what that means and on my paper it says (Rounds 1-6: knit in ss) so how can i move a stitch for 6 rows, it wont even get me anywhere
Thx

Oh! You just knit for the 6 rounds and for some reason, on circular needles, in comes out in stockinette stitch.

Abby, Mrs Miller is right. Just knit all stitches and it ends up stockinette stitch. Can you link us to your pattern?

Abby said
